the diary project
My current fine art collection, The Diary Project, is more than meets the eye. I chose clay as my medium to transform my inner anxieties and musings into something beautiful. Both strong and fragile thoughts are transformed into strong yet fragile works of art. I love working with clay as I find it therapeutic, mesmerising, and tactile. My delicate ceramic forms are made of white and coloured porcelain. I throw the base vessels on a pottery wheel and adorn them with layers of colourful design. Though the patterns on the outside of the pieces may look random, they are in fact handwritten stream of-consciousness diary entries that I apply on a vessel instead of paper. Each artwork tells a uniquely deep, meaningful, and intentionally illegible message, written only once on the piece as the words flow naturally. Each piece is one of a kind and irreplicable in both colour and pattern, as I go by feel, not formula.

about
Oh hey, didn't see ya there. I'm Camille, but you probably figured that out already, you clever little minx. I'm from Los Angeles, but have made Melbourne, Australia my home. I am a mixed media artist currently focusing on ceramics and embroidery. I studied ceramics at UCLA alongside my degree and fell in love with it, so right now I'm truly living my dream as a ceramics teacher and artist.
